THE LEADER AND PUBLIC OPINION E. Yao Agbenyo. The very moment it becomes clear that you are a leader of people, you automatically subscribe to a bundle of daily public expostulation, subject to automatic renewal every morning. Some of the stories will be true, others, half truths, others outright lies. People must discuss you. Some will be in praise stories, others will be defamations, but a great leader is aware of all this, and smiles through it all. When a great leader sees a sworn defamer of his character, that great leader keeps a smile, and greets his defamer, his sworn enemy with an enthusiastic handshake, and a pat of encouragement on his back to do better things with life. Can you be a leader without stories flying around you ? NEVER ! You could be the most righteous, pious, godly leader with the best of leadership qualities, or the most Venomous snake in the seat of a leader ! Stories will still go about. Look, being a great leader requires publicity to some extent. Having a great personality means that you will be loved and admired by many, and of course, being admired by many alone in itself is a recourse for hatred and slander from some. Don't worry, they are giving you free advertisement. And if you don't give up, they will change their minds ! So my partner in crime, Aboagye Desmond asked ; what if some don't change their minds ? " that's very funny but loaded with wisdom right ?
